Sappy young wine with an outdoor greenness to it and plenty of crisp, grassy citrus, green apple and elderflower fruit. B(+)

Yali National Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Casablanca, Chile (£8.39 Morrisons)
Quite a full and fleshy style, notes of green pepper, apple, lemon, grapefruit, maybe not as zippy as it could be, but still refreshing. B(-)

Springfontein Terroir Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Walker Bay, South Africa (£12.60 Private Cellar)
Is there some oak influence here? There’s a slight smokiness à la white Bordeaux, along with peach and tinned pear flavours, and a nutty creamy finish. S-

puklavec & friends Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Jeruzalem, Slovenia (£8.99 Waitrose)
The lightest and most delicate of these four, but still has plenty of zesty citrus flavour, notes of nettles and freshly mown grass and a sappy minerally undercurrent. S-
