Wine Tasting Video: Beaujolais Nouveau, New Zealand Pinot Noir & South African Pinotage

Château de Grandmont Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau 2012 (£7.75 Christopher Piper)
Lively, crunchy style, with jolly raspberry and blackberry flavours freshened up by an apple-y bite and some earthy spice, B(+)

Craggy Range Calvert Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010, Central Otago, New Zealand (£35-£40 Slurp, Swig, New Zealand House of Wine, Majestic, Farr Vintners, General Wine Company)
Powerful but alluring style, with a velvety texture, herb-infused wild berry flavours – loganberry and mulberry – and plenty of gamey forest floor character. Rich, but refreshing and multi-layered, lovely supple wine. S+

Warwick Estate Old Bush Vines Pinotage 2010, Stellenbosch, South Africa (£13.99 Lakeland Vintners, Pallant of Arundel, Reid Wines, Roberts and Speight, Theatre of Wine, Wimbledon Wine Cellar, Yorkshire Vintners, Wined Up Here)
Quite Rhône-y  in character, with plenty of earthy spice and herb character to back up the plummy damson and berry flavours, and just the right amount of chocolatey/toasty oak. Given time to open up, a wilder, more gamey side emerges. S(-)
