Wine Tasting Video: Generic Burgundies from Louis Jadot & James Nicholson

JN White Burgundy 2009 (£10.99 James Nicholson)
Quite an exotic style, with plump, honest citrus fruit (fresh & crystallised) a touch of pineapple chunk and a nutty, honeyed finish – not subtle but tasty. B+

Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay 2009 (£12.49 Tesco, Wine Rack, Wholefoods)
Much more backward style, but unfurls to show fresher tangier citrus and apple fruit, a slight hazelnut note and a clean, fresh minerally finish. S-

Louis Jadot Bourgogne Rouge 2008 (£12.99 Tesco, Wine Rack, Rhythm & Booze, World Duty Free, Askew Wines, Campbell Moore, Cork & Bottle, Cotswold Vintners, Divine Wines, Islington Wine, Jubilee Wines, Leamington Wine Company, Partridges)
Rather bizarre charred treacle toffee aroma gives way to sappy red fruit flavours and an earthy finish. OK, but could use just a little more flesh on its bones. B

JN Red Burgundy (Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune) 2009 (£11.99 James Nicholson)
Forward, friendly style, with the generosity of 2009 showing in the mix of refreshing cherry plum and loganberry with a riper, lusher velvety texture. B+
