Vibrant, honest glugger, plenty of dark plummy berry fruit just on the right side of jamminess, and with earthy floral spice to pep up the finish. S-

Tons de Duorum Red 2010, Douro (£8.99 Tanners, The Wine Society, Real Wine Company, Duncan Murray Wine, Totnes Wines, Halifax Wines, Inn Express)
Curious wine, feels almost too restrained for its own good, decent berry and damson flesh with a touch of toffee, but is neither gutsy nor fragrant. B-

Duorum Colheita 2010, Douro (£10.99 Tanners, The Wine Society)
A big step up from the basic wine, this has both fresher fruit – wild berries and plums – and more earthy fragrance and sense of place. Soft and ripe, but with acidity and tannin to support and no lack of fruit sweetness. S-
