Tomàs Cusine Auzells 2011, Costers del Segre, Spain (£9.95 The Wine Society)
A gentle cocktail of several grape varieties blending nutty, peachy flavours with the grapiness of Muscat and the stony citrus bite of Sauvignon Blanc. B+

Viña Real Barrel Fermented Rioja Blanco 2011, Spain (£9.99 Majestic, Kingsgate Wines, Clifton Cellars, Corks Out, D Byrne & Co)
Clean sappy style with fresh lemon (fresh and curd) flavours pepped up a creamy, coconutty splash of oak. B

Chateau Rouquette Sur Mer Cuvée Arpège La Clape Blanc 2011, Languedoc, France (£9.95 The Wine Society)
Shy and subtle to begin with, but then opens up to show musky pine and herb-scented pear and peach flesh – grows on you… S(-)

Jean Luc Colombo Côtes du Rhône Le Vent Blanc 2011, France (£9.25 Margiotta, Refreshers, Eynsham Cellars, Tailormade Wine Company, Partridges of Sloane Street, Famous Wines)
Initially a bit stolid, but then more intriguing jasmine and herb aromas appear to add interest to the ripe but fresh apricot flavours. S-

McHenry Hohnen 3 Amigos White 2009, Margaret River, Australia (£13.99 The General Wine Company, Wine Rack, Peckhams, Ann et Vin, Adnams Cellar and Kitchen, The Vineyard Dorking, George Hill, Tanners, The Shenfield Wine Company, Australian Wines Online, Constantine Stores, Thos Peatling, Handford, Eagles Wines, Hailsham Cellars, Berry Bros & Rudd, The Wright Wine Company)
Showing some age with its honeyed toasty characters but there’s still plenty of perky fruit – lychees, greengage, citrus, rhubarb – plus a nutty finish. S-
