Wine Tasting Video: Rosés from southern France

Marks & Spencer Bordeaux Rosé 2010 (£6.99 Marks & Spencer)
Fresh, sappy young style, like apple and blackberry pie in a glass, with a touch of leafiness on the finish. B

Sacha Lichine Le Poussin Rosé Vin de France (£9.95 Wine Hound,  Last Try Wines, Wine Reserve, Living In Store, E. H. Booths, Clear Black Wine Shop, Zoran’s)
Light, simple style, some strawberry flavour, but too sweet and simple for any class. 0

Commanderie de Peyrassol Côtes de Provence 2010 (£9.99 Majestic)
Quite fleshy for Provence, with honest strawberry, apple and cherry flavours and a fresh, satisfying finish. B+

Famille Negrel Côtes de Provence Sainte Victoire 2010 (£9.99 Majestic)
Has OK blackberry and apple fruit, but seems quite developed and lacks freshness. B-

Producteurs Plaimont Rive Haute Tannat/Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne (£8.99 Coe Vintners)
A firmer, chewier style of rosé, but despite the dark fruit flavours – blackcurrants, plums, blackberries – the finish is just a little sweet and simple. B(-)
